June 1- 2, 2000 Natcher Conference Center/NIH The current revolution in Information Technology (IT) capabilities offers an unprecedented and welcomed opportunity to better manage neuroscience data and to integrate knowledge about nervous system development and function in health and disease. These goals of the HUMAN BRAIN PROJECT/NEUROINFORMATICS initiative are being accomplished by bridging the concepts and principles derived from both neuroscience and informatics research Neuroinformatics). The 2000 Annual meeting is organized to provide a vital forum for addressing the necessary specifications to logically create such a distributed neuroscience information management system. Objectives: Provide updates on current developments in Neuroinformatics research from Human Brain Project Grantees Present novel or innovative methodological strategies, databases, and tools in Neuroinformatics research Offer new opportunities for investigators to become more informed and involved in the field of Neuroinformatics research. |

The Krasnow Institute Seminar Series 2000 |

Each Monday afternoon during the academic year, the Krasnow Institute hosts a seminar at 4:00 p.m. An invited guest speaker gives a presentation on a topic in the cognitive sciences or occasionally a relevant book or topic may be designated for discussion. Presentations are finished by 5:00 p.m. and a discussion period follows. All are welcome. All meetings will be held on the George Mason University Fairfax campus in Lecture Room 229 of the Krasnow Institute building.
